Rotate the knob or handle on the CAT tourniquet by hand to gradually increase the tightness of the bandage. This can gradually increase the pressure applied to the limbs until blood flow stops.

Confirm hemostatic effect:

Confirm that the pressure applied by the tourniquet is sufficient to effectively stop blood flow. Generally speaking, when the pulse of the limb stops and blood no longer flows out of the wound, it indicates that the tourniquet is effective.

Record time:

Record the time of applying the CAT tourniquet. The tourniquet cannot exceed 2 hours, so the patient must be transferred to a professional medical institution as soon as possible.

Subsequent processing:

After the injured person arrives at the medical institution, professional medical staff will further treat the wound and release the tourniquet at the appropriate time.
